Our Story

Since 1992 Captain Gregg Weatherby has enjoyed fly fishing on the Sakonnet River and near coastal waters of Newport, Rhode Island for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, False Albacore, and Bluefin Tuna. Gregg was the Founder and original owner, USCG Capt./Guide, of The Saltwater Edge. Always an exciting angling adventure with multiple species all caught on the fly. Conventional tackle becomes critical when it comes to the larger (giants) Bluefin Tuna.
